WASHINGTON, August 24, 2005:
Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns continues USDA's nationwide farm
bill listening tour hosting forums in Kentucky and Illinois on August
31st and September 1st, respectively. The public is invited to attend
and offer comments on farm bill policy.
The Secretary will conduct the following Farm Bill Forums:
Aug. 31, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. (EDT), Fair & Expo Center, Louisville,
Kentucky
Sept. 1, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (CDT), Farm Progress Show, Decatur,
Illinois
The Secretary also announced the following specialty Farm Bill
Forum:
Aug. 25, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (AKDT), Palmer Railroad Depot, Palmer,
Alaska to be hosted by Deputy Secretary Chuck Conner and Under Secretary
Mark Rey
Sessions have also been announced for:
Aug. 25, 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (CDT), Kellogg Conference Center,
Tuskegee, AL
Aug. 26, 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (MDT), Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum,
Las Cruces, NM
Forums have already been held in Tennessee, North Dakota, Minnesota,
Wisconsin, Iowa, California and Pennsylvania, Indiana and Wyoming.
