Posted May 6, 2005: According
to a report on USAgNet, demand for organic grain is at an all-time
high among food processors and livestock farmers.
The increased demand has manifested itself in terms of price. Grain
brokers report organic soybeans regularly bring between $17 and
$25 a bushel and organic corn about $7, while conventional commodities
often sell for less than a quarter of their organic counter part.
Demand has also surged for organic varieties of specialty grains
such as flax and amaranth.
