Dean foods donates to organic education

BOULDER, Colorado, April 29, 2005: Dean Foods, whose connection to organic agriculture comes by way of their WhiteWave Foods division, recently strengthened their commitment to the industry with a $100,000 donation to the Organic Center for Education and Promotion. Company officials stressed the importance of strengthening organic research and consumer education.

"We are pleased to provide continued support to the Organic Center for Education and Promotion in their work to provide credible scientific research about the benefits of organic products," states Gregg Engles, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Dean Foods Company. "We view the work of the Center as integral to our business and mission because research and consumer education are key to the sustained growth of the organic industry."

Dean’s WhiteWave division includes popular organic brands, Silk Soymilk and Horizon Organic dairy products, eggs and juices. The Organic Center hosted a reception for the donors at the recent All Things Organic(TM) Conference and Trade Show, in Chicago.
