Fitzpatrick/just-food.com:Corn, the ever versatile stalk,
has a yet another use--CDs. At least according to a subsidiary of
Japan-based electronics giant Sanyo, which has announced it will
release a biodegradable DVD and CD made from corn.
Optical disc maker Sanyo Mavic Media Co, Ltd says its environment-friendly
disc can be thrown away and, when buried, will decompose like any
plant-based substance. If burnt, no dioxins are produced, the company

and plastic as conventional disks, said the company.
