Cadbury Nigeria hopes cocoa gift will yield better chocolate

July 6, 2004, as reported by just-food.com: Cadbury Nigeria handed out 300,000 free cocoa seedlings to local farmers, according to reports by local media.

The subsidy of confectionery giant Cadbury Schweppes hopes the move will encourage farmers to produce good quality cocoa beans, company chairman Uduimo Itsueli is reported by OsterDowJones of telling local media.

The company’s Stanmark Cocoa Processing Company, in Ondo, southwest Nigeria, has a processing capacity of 10,000 metric tons of cocoa.
