Blueberry fields forever
While Emery farm may be recently organic, five years now, it has been blueberries forever. Elizabeth Coleman White domesticated the first blueberry bush in nearby Whitesbog. Now part of Lebanon State Forest it is managed as a historic site by the Whitesbog Preservation Trust.

The bushes in the photo are nearly 40 years old. John is gradually renovating field by field; this mature field will be replaced in the near future.
