Flats of lettuce, waiting to be transplanted, sit on an old wagon bed near a field of herbs that they may someday join in a salad. The herbs are located close to the Kretschmann Farm packing area. "We never heard of permaculture," says Don. "We just naturally put the things we use most close by."
