DEAR NEW FARM:

I have an organic garden with more veggies than I can use. We have had this garden for over seven years and the hobby produces more than we can eat and give our neighbors. Can I list my home garden on this site for people to come and purchase some of my extra veggies, and how do I price them?

DEAR LINDA:

You can list in our Classifieds and/or on our Farm Locator tool. As far as pricing is concerned, check out our weekly OPX update to see what premiums organic folks are receiving for their produce wholesale at terminal markets, after post-harvest handling, specific packaging and delivery. Also check the prices at your nearest farmers' market, which, again, reflects the value addition of the produce being harvested, transported, and presented for sale, in addition to being attended by someone from the farm. Keep us posted on how things work out.
