Map #3: Wiscoy Organic Produce Facilities: Map of garden, garage and home

Home:
A. Wash tub sink in kitchen is used for washing asparagus.
B. Recycling area in kitchen used to store plastic and paper bags used for packing organic vegetables.
C. Root cellar and refrigerator used for cold storage when needed.
D. A greenhouse to grow seedlings is attached to the south side of the house (April-May). Early seedlings are grown in the SW corner.

Garage:
A. Shelving in garage used to store supplies, buckets, etc.
B. Hand tools and tiller are stored along the east wall.
C. Gasoline also stored along the east wall.
D. Carport area used to dry onions and garlic. These are placed on cardboard or in cardboard boxes to dry.

Garden Shed:
A. Stores seedling trays and hand tools.

Hydrant (well water—520 feet deep, dug in 2000).
A. A hose can be attached to the hydrant or buckets filled with water to wash vegetables. Green beans and yellow beans are not generally washed unless dirty. Mulching usually keeps rain from splashing soil onto beans.
